"Back to School" Information

Dear CAST Tech Families,


Thanks for choosing CAST Tech! The information in this newsletter is a resource as we all prepare for the first day of school on August 9.


CAST Tech will provide in-person instruction this school year. There is no virtual option per TEA guidelines.


I hope you will join us Thursday, August 5 for our "Meet the CAST" event. Review below for additional details and times for this event.

Although similar, please be aware that our school calendar is not the same as the SAISD district calendar. We will send reminders each month of the upcoming holidays.

Please review the uniform expectations as they are new this school year and a bit different from the SAISD dress code policy.

Meet the CAST!

Join us Thursday, August 5 to receive your schedule, walk your classes, and meet your teachers.


This event is for all CAST Tech students and their parents.


The schedule is as follows:

3:30pm - Class of 2022 (seniors)

4:15pm - Class of 2023 (juniors)

5:00pm - Class of 2024 (sophomores)

5:45pm - Class of 2025 (freshmen)


Each cohort will start at the Learning Staircase for a brief meeting and then report to classrooms. If you can't make your child's designated time, come anyway. The times are spread out to assist families with parking and space on our campus.

New Student Orientation

Student Council is hosting a new student orientation. The purpose of this two-day camp is to assist new students with making peer connections and getting acclimated to the campus, as well as the downtown area. There will be various team-building activities for students. The goal is for students to leave excited and feeling more comfortable with their new school.


The camp runs from 8:45am - 3:45pm


Grades 10-11 New Students: July 27-28

Grade 9 Only: July 29-30

Carpooling

Our students are coming from San Antonio and the surrounding area. Thus, carpool connections is provided as an option to connect families as they plan the transport of their child to/from campus.

SAISD Bus Routes

SAISD runs bus routes within their school district boundaries. For in-district families, enter your address for pick-up details. Out of district families may drop-off their child at a district site to catch a bus to/from the Fox Tech campus.

Registration

Haven't completed the registration process? Our main office is ready to assist you in-person on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8am - 4pm, no appointment is necessary just walk-in.

Located downtown in two freshly-renovated buildings on the former campus of Fox Tech High School, CAST Tech works hand-in-hand with industry partners to prepare students for careers in technology and business, fields where the demand is high for talented workers. Some features of the unique program include flexible schedules, hands-on projects and real-world problems to solve, as well as job shadowing, mentorships, internships, and job opportunities upon graduation.
