Trail of Courage
1965
Marching to Montgomery
The year is 1965. Martin Luther King, Jr., gathered a group of people to march from
Selma, Alabama to Montgomery, Alabama. This was a peaceful protest designed to inspire to stand up for their rights. After a bloody beginning in Selma, the marchers continued, showing courage. People of all races marched together even though they could have lost their jobs, been hurt or killed, or sent to jail.
