Message from Dr. Ramirez
Hello CRHS Learning Community,
I hope you and your family enjoy the Winter Break! We start school again on January 4th and then begin final exams on January 13th. The end of the first semester will come to an end on January 25.
Enjoy your well-deserved break from school! I plan to decompress by working on many hobby projects. Maybe fence for our henhouse? I hope you all find joyful ways to spend the holidays.
For the second semester, we need to finalize our hybrid return groupings. All students with last names from A-L will be placed in group A, and M-Z in group B. If you need to have your student in a particular group, please contact donna.ray@orange.k12.nc.us. She'll make the necessary changes. All requests will need to be made by this Friday, December 18th. Also, if you want to know what group you signed up for or need to make a change, please contact your school counselors.
Please make sure to see our bell schedule for next semester. As you will see, class will begin at 11:00 a.m. This later start time is due to time needed to disinfect busses after each run. Our lunch is also different - only 15 minutes long. We will hold a series of student meeting or videos explaining the return process.
To those who celebrate Christmas, Kwanza, and Hanukkah, the Cedar Ridge faculty and staff wish you good tidings, and to everyone, enjoy your break.
Kindest regards,
Dr. Ramirez

Athletics Updates: Message from CRHS Boosters
Good Evening Red Wolf Families!
We hope you and your family are doing well and staying safe. We are writing to you as a previous member of the Booster Club to ask you to consider joining us again if you still have an athlete at Cedar Ridge. As you are aware, without spectator sports, we have lost our concession profits (our main source of income), our visibility, and our spiritwear has gone unsold. Traditionally, the Booster Club awards an annual scholarship to 2 deserving senior athletes. We will be unable to extend this tradition without the help of funds raised from memberships.
Please consider joining the Athletic Booster Club this year. We realize it may only be in spirit but we can still be impactful! Our membership forms are available on the Booster portion of the Athletics page of the Cedar Ridge website and we also now accept Venmo payments. You may scan your membership form to this email address or mail your check and form to the school. We are excited about being able to watch our student athletes through the newly installed television cameras and with that comes opportunities for advertising. We need to remain relevant in the community!
The Booster Club will be losing 3 Board members after this year which creates opportunities for the 2021-2022 term. Please email if you are interested in being part of the rebuild next year! The Board consists of 4 current positions with room for growth.
We appreciate your support and consideration. We hope that you all have safe and healthy holidays!
*Please note: Cedar Ridge is not allowing spectators at this time. Masks must be worn at all times except when running in XC. It can be pulled down when the race starts and pulled back up when approaching another runner. Neck gaiters can be worn by XC RUNNERS ONLY! Social distancing protocol must be followed at all times.

Friday, January 15th - 3rd Period
Monday, January 18th - NO SCHOOL
Tuesday, January 19th - 4th Period

Some students may stay longer than the 1:00 p.m. end time. This depends on the type of test they are taking.

Students who take year-long classes will have a different schedule but the testing window will not change.
Ridge Time Topics this Week

Driver Education Students: Please Read to Save Time!
Any student with a NC DMV appointment to take a permit test before Jan. 4, 2021 should contact Ms. Tracy Carver at tracy.carver@orange.k12.nc.us.You need to pick up paperwork as close to your test date as possible.
She will make sure that you get all of the paperwork needed to get your permit once you pass the test.
If you have already set your NC DMV appointment, call and let Ms. Carver know the date in order to set up a paperwork pick up time. Do not set your appointment before you finish your driving because it takes a few days to get the Driver Education Certificate processed. Due to the upcoming Winter Break and the Christmas Holidays, anyone with an appointment between Dec.21 and Jan. 4 should arrange to pick up paperwork by Dec. 21, 2020.
