How to Stay Healthy
· Washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds;
· Avoiding close contact with those who are sick;
· Using alcohol-based hand sanitizers (60% alcohol or above) when hand-washing is unavailable;
· Avoiding large crowds and international trips to the following countries with a level-2 or higher advisory alert from the CDC: China, South Korea, Italy, Iran, and Japan;
· Covering coughs and sneezes with a tissue, and coughing into your elbow;

· Encouraging staff or students who feel sick to stay home unless they are seeking medical care; and
· Getting this year’s influenza vaccine if you have not already done so.

‪Mr. Bogie’s 6th grade group dissected owl pellets today to learn about owl diet, digestion, and adaptations. #lmmsrocks
‪6th Grade STEM students made the tallest freestanding tower today out of toothpicks and marshmallows (of course they got to eat a few) 😉. #lmmsrocks ‬

Beauty and the Beast Musical
Sharpening the Saw
Chorus students visited the Etheridge center at USCA to participate in a JOYE in Aiken Young People’s Concert. Sam Reider and the Human Hands took our students on a tour of American Folk Music from New Orleans all the way to the Appalachian Mountains. A great experience for our students!

Safety
Starting at 7:55 our traffic is shifted to drop off in front of the school. The reason for this is students are being dismissed from the gym to their hallways. Teachers must be in the grade level hallways to supervisor. At 8:00, students must get a tardy pass. At 8:15, students must be signed in by a parent.
Carline is now complete by 3:30pm with very few students remaining. After 3:30pm, please pick your child up from the front.
Attention parents of small children playing outside prior to dismissal. We understand many of you come from Byrd straight to Leavelle to pick up other children. It is a long time for little ones to sit. We do not mind them playing outside, but please make sure to monitor your child at all times and ensure he/she is in the car by 3:05 prior to dismissal at 3:10 for safety purposes. Also, some children are breaking branches off of the bushes by the school. Please do not allow your child to do this. We will continue to assess the safety of the students playing. If they are not monitored, we may have to ask that children stay in the cars.Students should only play in the lower field.
Thank you for your continued support to keep our students safe and excelling to their fullest potential.
Good Citizens for Highly Involved with Technology
