Salute To Veterans!
Lackland ISD student groups celebrated Veterans' Day in various ways. Mrs. Brock and the Student Council group honored Military Veterans by giving a patriotic pin with a message of "thanks" and a sweet treat to all staff members who had served in the military. The S2S group, sponsored by Mrs. Duron celebrated veterans by asking students and staff to contribute to a Veterans Wall of Fame.

News for Seniors
I visited the senior classes during this month to talk about college and career readiness. Some of the topics that students learned about: endorsements; the difference between trade schools, community colleges, and universities; applying for college; deadlines for applications; scholarships, loans, and grants; college waivers for SAT tests; Free dual credit classes; interest inventory. Students were able to conduct an interest inventory that helps them determine what career cluster they may want to student when they go to college. Here is the link that was used in case they want to take the survey again. Interest Inventory For students who are wanting to learn more about colleges in other states, this is another survey that will give you data about colleges and jobs in other states. Career One Stop
