A Message from Dr. Lambert

Good afternoon,

As we close out Teacher Appreciation Week, I am thankful for the amazing work the teachers and staff at Bush have done this year. I am thankful, too, for the unparalleled support of our school community and PTO. I know that teachers felt the love you have showered on them this week. And, we ended the week with a taco food truck sponsoring by the PTO and your generous support. Thank you for recognizing the dedication of the staff at Bush.

Next week, we continue to celebrate as Wednesday is School Nurses' Day. Nurse Kirchner and Ms. Padilla have done amazing things this year. The clinic has been even more important than ever. I am, personally, very thankful for all they have done to keep us all healthy.

Finally, I would like to recognize some outstanding Bobcats. Each year, the Conroe ISD School Board and Dr. Null recognize one student, one paraprofessional, and one educator at each campus with an Ambassador Award. Bush's recipients this year are student Matthew Vincent, paraprofessional Cassidy Cunningham, and educator Lindsay Campbell. Please take a couple of minutes to watch the video below highlighting these Ambassador Award recipients.

Take good care,

Dr. Jarod Lambert

Bush Volunteers

Bush Elementary is so excited to welcome volunteers back into the building! While limited in the number of volunteers permitted each week and no student contact, having parents and guardians in the building enhances our school community! Your smiling faces have been greatly missed this year as was the immense help you bring to our teachers. For now, we are able to bring back volunteers to assist in the copy room and library. Copy Room work may include photocopying, laminating and other projects teachers and staff need help with. Library volunteers will assist in shelving and organizing books. (Sorry, no checking out books with students yet!) Also, younger children will not be allowed to accompany you at this time.

Please note you will need to complete the CISD Volunteer form before volunteering (found here: https://www.conroeisd.net/community/volunteer-in-cisd/) and each time you come to the building you will need to complete the Covid check-in. And please remember your mask!

It is important that this person is able to attend the monthly board meetings to be able to oversee them.

Marquee Coordinator: This position works with our front office staff to update the marquee as needed. It typically involves working once a week, but can be more when there is a birthday to be added or PTO Spirit nights. This position can be shared by two people.

Academic Outreach: This position is responsible for working with teachers and Dr. Lambert to find ways in which the PTO can enhance academic learning at Bush through bringing in fun and exciting outside organizations that support the curriculum. This position will also help assist in the new Team Scholarship program that will be initiated next year to help support the Grade Level and Specials Teams with additional curriculum based “extra” programs/projects they want to bring to their students.
