Our district is having an audit to identify ways to ensure that our policies, practices, and outcomes are fair and equitable for all students. Please complete this survey designed to gather information about your experiences and beliefs with equity at our schools. We will also review data and meet with key focus groups. All information will be kept confidential and used to improve the district’s and school’s approach to equity. Please complete the survey by visiting ParentSquare or ysd7.org/surveys by December 1. Thank you for your participation.

- I would like to pass the Spirit of the Bear award to Lisa Gomez. She has been such a great support in the classroom and has been a joy to collaborate with. She always wants to do what is best for students and is committed to the success of students.
Thanks Mrs. Gomez for living out the Spirit of the Bear every day! We're grateful that you're part of our team!
Q: If school is closed due to winter weather, does my child have online school that day?
A: No. School is closed like it was before the pandemic. Remember that your child can always log into his/her online learning websites to read, catch up on assignments, or practice reading, math, or language activities at home. All links can be found at the top of our Roosevelt website. Experts recommend 20 minutes of reading every day, plus 20 minutes on programs like Freckle Math, iStation, and Imagine Learning.
Q: Where can I find information about weather closures or delays?
A: Find information at these outlets:

From November 1st to December 20th, Yakima School District multilingual students will be invited to participate in our "Minutes 4 Meals" campaign. In this campaign, students will be able to do their schoolwork and donate to a local charity at the same time.
Our Roosevelt multilingual students use Imagine Learning to gain mastery and confidence in speaking and reading English. During these 6 weeks, every time a student logs in, their time will be matched by a donation to YWCA Yakima - the largest provider of domestic violence services in Yakima County.
For every 240 minutes students spend on Imagine Learning, 1 meal will be donated to YWCA Yakima. As we enter the holiday season, this will be an exciting opportunity for students to give back in a meaningful way to their community.
