Morning Message

June 16, 2020

From the Principal

Happy summer. I hope that everyone is enjoying the nice weather and that you are staying safe.

2020-2021 School Calendar

Our tentative school calendar is posted below. Note the dates highlighted in yellow. October 9 and November 3 are designated as "no school" days for Robbinsdale School District, but Sacred Heart decided to be in session. This means that these two days are "parent drive days" sine bussing will not be available. Because of the change, we are ending our school year on June 4th instead of June 9th.

Preparing for the 1st Day of School-Tuesday, September 8th

Archbishop Hebda has assigned a Task Force to provide K-8 Catholic schools with recommendations and guidance on the safe return to school this fall. This Catholic Schools Task Force includes leaders from the Archdiocese along with experts in finance, communications, law, public health and mental health.

Together, in solidarity with Catholic school leaders, we are clear-minded about the challenges of COVID-19 and confident that we possess the skill and flexibility needed to meet the unprecedented and evolving requirements for health and safety protocols and best practices for our schools to open this fall.

The recommendations and guidelines will be sent to principals early July. Reopening Catholic school buildings for the instruction of students will be contingent upon careful observance of the Archdiocesan Protocols. Each Catholic school must use the Archdiocesan Protocols to create a plan that is tailored with school-level processes and procedures that are reflective of the needs of our school. The plan will be called the School-Level Pandemic Preparedness and Response Plan (PPRP). Each Catholic school will be required to have a PPRP. I will have a committee that includes school staff and parents to help create a plan that is tailored to our school. I will communicate our plan to you in my newsletter during July and August. Our plan must be submitted to the Archdiocese of St. Paul & Mpls. by the first week of August.

Our parish leadership team recently completed our "COVID-19 Preparedness Plan for Sacred Heart Catholic Church & School Employees" to safely return to work. Keeping everyone safe is our primary goal.

Again, our plan is to re-open Sacred Heart Catholic School in fall. Please reach out to me with any questions, ideas, or concerns you have.

Enjoy the weather!

SHOUT IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS!!!! Our School is Unmatched

As a school community, we have a pretty good thing going here. We are a great school, that fosters a community of caring staff, teachers and students. We have high academic standards, with a focus on C-STEM curriculum. We have small, diverse classrooms and in those classrooms, we instill core Catholic values.

Our families are our best marketing tool and I am asking if you would let your friends and neighbors know about us. Let them know why you send your child to SHCS. We would also love to talk to and invite them to take a look at SHCS.

I would appreciate it very much, if you could let me know of families that we can reach out to.
