Happy Spring!
WE WANT TO SAY A GIANT "I LOVE YOU TO ALL OUR STUDENTS!"
We are missing them so much that I would love pictures of them learning and having fun. I am challenging you and your student to email or dojo me a picture daily of your student learning. In return, I will send back a picture of myself and what is going on at my home!
Welcome aboard the Pirate Teaching Ship! You have always be on the ship. We are just taking a different course. :) We will be referring to your child as "your student" because we want to set the mindset that they are having some structure with school from you amazing parents.
Please know that there are a lot of resources out there, but please be cautious with various links. Some links work one day and sometimes they don't. Please let us know if there are any suspicious popups on any of the links we send out. We are not seeing any on our end.
Please have your student read each day during SSR= SILENT SUSTAINED READING (Refer to suggested schedule) !
There is a lot of material here to go through. Please do not overwhelm yourself. Do what you can. The assigned lessons are so important as are the minutes in IREADY. All else are extras. It is always better to be over prepared. We understand many of you are working from home and need a routine outline. Please adjust to your liking. It is just a suggestion. Linked schedule above. Download :)
They still have access to https://www.getepic.com/ our class codes are below. This is a website full of books to read online and the students love it! The website only allows access during school hours. The students can also get on worldbook on the schools page. Your students know how to find these websites!

iReady
iReady is very important to me. Each student is on a different track that fits them and their needs. I would love for your student to do 20 minutes in reading and 20 minutes in math each day. I will be checking on my end for passing lessons. Your child will also be assigned a lesson. Please remind your student that we will still be playing the iReady game and that I will be tracking their passing lessons to see how everyone is an iReady Super Star. You can also have your student track their own lessons by writing down the lesson, whether they passed or not, what they learned, and a question they had. (They should know how to do this because we track them in class)
Please make sure your student is working on this in a quiet non distracting area.
Ready Packets
These packets are for review so your student should be able to answer the questions with very little help. If they have a question, ask them to read the question to you.
These packets can be printed if you have a printer, although they are a little lengthy. If not printed students can easily read from the online document and answer questions on paper.
Ready Reading Packet (Not to be done all in one day. Take your time and really work through these.)
Attached are links you may explore. LASTLY, HAVE FUN AND PLAY WITH YOUR CHILD! HAVE CLASS IN YOUR BACKYARD AND GET CREATIVE!
Ready Math Packet (Not to be done all in one day. Take your time and really work through these.)
Scholastic
Scholastic is offering a free service during this time with some fun learning opportunities each day. You can even take what they are doing a step further and have your student create questions, answers, and text evidence from what they read.
