October 14- 18
Language Arts:
The students I can explain the rhyme scheme and structural elements of a poem.
The students will use pronouns to substitute for nouns.
Math: Students will recall facts to multiply.
Science: The students can set up and organize my science notebook to record future learning.
Social Studies: Students will obtain information from visual sources to identify how communities meet people’s needs
Homework:
Reading: Please make sure your child is reading 20 minutes a day and then writing a 3-5 sentence response about what they read in their reading log notebook.
Math: Please make sure to check your child's planner on a daily basis for math homework assignments.
October 21-25
Language Arts:
The students can make inferences and use evidence from the text to support my understanding.
The students will match my pronouns by number, person and ownership.
Math: Students will use strategies to solve problems involving multiplication within 100.
Science: The students will collect and record data by observing and measuring (using the metric system) a variety of objects .
Social Studies: Students will use print and visual sources to record information learned about physical characteristics
Homework:
Reading: Please make sure your child is reading 20 minutes a day and then writing a 3-5 sentence response about what they read in their reading log notebook.
Math: Please make sure to check your child's planner on a daily basis for math homework assignments.
October 28- November 1st
Language Arts:
The students will continue to deepen their comprehension of poems.
The students will compare two things using -er or more.
Math: Students will represent multiplication facts by using a variety of strategies to determine the total number of objects.
Science: The students will describe and classify samples of matter as solids, liquids, and gases.
Social Studies: Students will use print and visual source to record information learned about human characteristics.
Homework:
Reading: Please make sure your child is reading 20 minutes a day and then writing a 3-5 sentence response about what they read in their reading log notebook.
