Curriculum Adoption Pilot and Public Review
In early 2021, Gilbert Public Schools’ Curriculum Department began the process to adopt new curriculum resources for both Secondary English Language Arts and Mandarin in grades seven through twelve. Last night the Governing Board granted approval to begin a pilot and open a 60-day public review for the following recommendations:
English Language Arts 7- 12: Savvas Learning Company - My Perspectives
Mandarin: Carnegie Learning - Zhen Bang
Teachers who will be participating in the pilot will be notifying families directly. In addition, the curriculum resources will be available for public review, and we would like to welcome all families and community members to participate in providing feedback.
Public review displays will be available starting February 18th at the following locations:
7-12 English Language Arts
District Office Building B Lobby
Campo Verde High School Front Office
Desert Ridge Junior High School Front Office
GPS Global Academy
District Office Building B Lobby
Gilbert High School Front Office
Greenfield Junior High School Front Office
Frequently asked questions can be found on the Curriculum Department website that will include a space for addressing additional questions as needed. This will be a growing document to effectively communicate with our community.
