It's time to rally, Pirate Nation!

Big picture

It's CROSSTOWN SHOWDOWN week, Pirate Nation, and you know what that means!

While our Lubbock-Cooper Pirates prepare for victory against the Frenship Tigers in Wolfforth on Friday night, we can do our part to cheer them on by eating at Chick-fil-A (114th and Quaker location) NOW THROUGH FRIDAY! Let's top the Tigers on the field AND in the drive-thru!

Breakfast, lunch, dinner - is there ever a bad time for Chick-fil-A?! Just mention Lubbock-Cooper when you order (or type in "Lubbock-Cooper" in the special instructions for a mobile order), and a portion of the sale will benefit the LUBBOCK-COOPER EDUCATION FOUNDATION!

Our friends at Frenship will be doing the same on their side of town, so we've got some work to do! If you'll recall, we are the reigning CHICK-FIL-A CROSSTOWN SHOWDOWN CHAMPIONS after our victory in 2019! Let's maintain our crown and show our support in the best way possible, by "EATING MOR CHIKIN!"

Teachers On The Rise

Please take the time to fill out this form as we have so many awesome teachers.

Lubbock-Cooper Middle School families log onto or simply google Teachers On The Rise. Once you are at the nomination site, enter in a little information about yourself and then tell us why your teacher deserves special recognition. Perhaps your teacher made you feel welcome on the first day of school, or you would like to honor a teacher you had in years’ past--these are stories we want to hear about. Tip: We know teachers are nice, funny and great, but we want to know why they are nice, funny and great. Please be a detailed as possible on your nomination.

We will continue to honor three teachers every month this school year—one from elementary, one from middle school/junior high, and one teacher from high school. The teachers will receive a great prize packet from our sponsors including a $100 United Supermarkets gift card, a meal for two to the Texas Tech Club and an assortment full of Mrs Baird’s goodies! The student or family who nominates a winning teacher also receives a $50 American Express gift card.

But we want to take it up a notch for September. In order to get the nominations coming in, everyone who nominates a teacher will be entered into a drawing for an additional $50 American Express gift card for the student AND Free Mrs Baird’s Bread For A YEAR for the family. United Supermarkets is also including a great gift basket. What a great way to start the year!

  • Tell students to log on to to fill out an entry form.
  • Each month, three winners will be selected (one elementary, one middle/junior high and one high school).
  • Winning teachers receive $100 United Supermarket Gift Card, meal for two to the Texas Tech Club, and a Mrs Baird’s gift basket packed with an assortment of Mrs Baird’s products.
  • Students who nominate a winning teacher also receive a $50 VISA Gift Card.
  • All South Plains schools are eligible.
