McKissick Academy of Science and Technology

October 28, 2022

It was a wonderful week! We celebrated Red Ribbon Week and being aware to say no to drugs! Mrs. Moore, our guidance counselor, did a great job planning the days. Last Friday, we had our first Shark Swag celebration! It was so neat to see so many students teaching others new "large" board games!

We also ended the week with a Book Character Parade! It was so nice to see all of the students making connections to books! There has been a lot of sickness in the community. Wash hands frequently and stay safe as we want our Sharks in school and healthy as much as possible! Next week is a full week of learning and we can't wait to see you!

Committed to success,

Making Sammy Come to Life

We are excited to announce a partnership with a local residence to make a real life Sammy the Shark! We will be working on this school-wide project November 9-11. We need your help to make this happen! Please see the graphic below and have your child wear the correct color shirt to help us build the body of Sammy on November 10!

We are also in need of empty tin cans (soup cans) and plastic bottles. Please send in anything you can to Mrs. Phillips by November 9!
