Good News!
Four Day Work Week!
Great week staff! Thank you for providing a return to normalcy last week. We have such a strong team here at Micro! Going forward, we need a continued focus on unity and support. We are better together!
I am looking forward to the Evacuation Drill on Thursday. It will be a great learning opportunity for us and it will allow us to become better prepared in the event of an emergency. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know!
Please check out the address to the board that our visiting custodial floater, Josiah Edwards, made last week to the Board of Education. What a great message!
Thank you for showing up for our kids each day!

Micro Headlines
- Ashley Myers has been approved for voluntary share leave. If you would like to share any leave with her, please see Mrs. Creech.
- Please complete the Panorama Survey if you have not already done so.
- The Department of Public Instruction (DPI) recently gifted schools with touchscreen Chromebooks to assist with iStation. We were given 20. Our plan for distribution is: K-3 classroom teachers (EC included) will have the opportunity to check them out of the library for classroom use (1 per K-3 teacher). If they have not been checked out 4-5 teachers, enhancement, support, etc. will have the opportunity to check them out for use. We are starting with K-3 teachers because they were attended to support iStation. However, since we are a 1-to-1 Chromebook school we are in good shape.
- Our custodians are trying out a new schedule and therefore, may not be vacuuming your classrooms during enhancement times as we originally planned. We are trying out the new schedule before assigning the new times for classroom vacuuming. We appreciate your understanding and patience during this process. The custodial team is working hard to address concerns presented in our recent survey. They are aiming to improve upon the cleanliness of classrooms, restrooms, and the stocking of bathroom materials.
- Clothes Closet: Staff we have began keeping the Clothes Closet locked. We want to ensure that students have permission to enter the space and are properly supervised. There is a key located at the front desk for the clothes closet. Grade levels with access to a instructional assistant are welcome to stop by the front desk and check out the key. If you are in a grade level without an IA and need an adult to accompany your student to the clothes closet, please contact the front desk and an adult will be located to accompany your child.
- Does your passion project incorporate technology? Would you like to attend NC TIES? Click here to see if you can align it with you passion project. See Mrs. Kerstetter for assistance.
- The state of NC is creating a share site designed for teachers to share resources. Click here to preview. It is a platform where educators can search for & use NC standards-aligned, high quality OER. It will go live in December.
