COVID-19 Updates
Ozark School District
As things continue to shift and evolve, we want to make sure to keep you as updated as possible.
Yesterday, Dec. 2, the CDC released an update about reducing quarantine periods. We are working with the Christian County Health Department as we evaluate this new guidance. As soon as we have this information, we will adjust our procedures accordingly and contact anyone currently on quarantine with updated guidelines. Thank you for your patience as we continue to work through the latest changes in information and guidelines.
On Nov. 12, the Governor’s Office along with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Department of Health and Senior Services released new quarantine guidelines for schools.
If both individuals at school – the person diagnosed with COVID-19 and the person exposed to the positive case – have masks on and are wearing them correctly, the individual exposed does not need to quarantine from school.
Under this new quarantine guidance, the only exception to the quarantine is attending class. Students are still required to quarantine outside of school and are not allowed to participate in athletics/activities for the quarantine duration.
This guidance also indicates that face shields, single-layered gaiters and single-layered masks do not exempt individuals from being quarantined.
We need your help to keep everyone safe and healthy.
