Lakeville Area Schools families and community,

Tuesday, September 5 marked the first day of the 2023-24 school year. The day was filled with joy and laughter as students entered their school buildings and reconnected with staff for the start of a new year.

As we embark on this new academic year, I am excited to partake in the continued growth of our students, staff and the entire Lakeville area community. Our top priority remains ensuring the success of every student.

Last spring, kindergarten students across the district performed 'One Small Voice' to be viewed at the 2023-24 staff kick-off event. Please enjoy this heartwarming video featuring the class of 2035!

ChatGPT is a free Artificial Intelligence (AI) program that will write/solve almost anything for its users. After its launch in Fall 2022, people have been worried it will enable students to cheat and/or start replacing people in the workforce.

Mary Casserly-Smith, media specialist at Lakeville South High School, wants teachers to learn to maximize the benefits and use it as an aid rather than fear it.
