My daughter is graduating from high school this weekend. As a parent, I am officially done with the K-12 years. Here is a copy of an essay by one of my favorite authors, Anna Quindlen I first read it when it was originally published and my oldest was a newborn. Honestly, I did not heed Ms. Quindlen's advice. I worried, I rushed, I overscheduled, I read too many parenting books and my children turned out who they were going to be regardless. However, at many of my family's overscheduled events I made my closest friends. I talked with my children and their friends during countless carpools. We had a ton of fun. Our family is moving onto the next phase. My husband and I are now more trusted advisors than personal assistants. It is much less exhausting! As a fellow parent I wish nothing more for you than to enjoy the madness that is your day to day life. Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!
Best,
Amy

HONORING OUR FOURTH GRADE CLASS
Fourth Grade Celebration Parade
with
Grand Marshall, Mr. Frank Forsthoefel!
June 1, 2021
5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
University of Cincinnati
Blue Ash Campus
9555 Plainfield Road
Parents of students with fourth grade students from Blue Ash, Maple Dale, Montgomery and Symmes are cordially invited to participate in a car parade the evening of June 1, 2021.
Families are encouraged to drive through with their fourth grade students to see their teachers and be celebrated! We encourage families to decorate cars, make signs and have streamers to celebrate their fourth grade “graduation!” We ask each family to drive through one time only so that everyone has an opportunity to be celebrated.
The times for each elementary school will be staggered to help support traffic flow: Blue Ash Elementary @ 5:30, Maple Dale @ 5:45, Montgomery @ 6:00, Symmes @ 6:15.
Teachers and administrators from the four schools as well as virtual teachers will be along the parade route to wave and cheer as the cars drive through. Blue Ash Police will be at the entrance and exit of the route to help cars safely enter and exit onto Plainfield Road. Cars will enter from Plainfield Road using the entrance nearest to Cooper Road *See map below.
We hope you can join us for this special event!

4th GRADE CELEBRATION F2F and VC
On June 2nd, we have a great afternoon planned to get all the Montgomery Elementary fourth graders back together one last time at Montgomery Elementary! The celebration will take place at Montgomery Elementary from 12:30-3 pm. This event is for the students only. Group sizes will not exceed 19 students. We will start off the fun with a pizza party in the cafeteria and then move outside to rotate through different fun stations. Students will also participate in a small indoor "graduation" ceremony where they will receive their certificate of graduation from Montgomery Elementary. All students will also be receiving a class t-shirt that should be worn to this event. Face to face students will receive these in class on June 1st. T-shirts for virtual students will be delivered to their homes on June 1st (via address listed in the PTO directory), so be on the lookout! We are following the Healthy Aves Protocol for this event, which states:
The district has announced that all Healthy Aves protocols will remain in place for the remainder of the school year in accordance with Governor Mike DeWine’s directive for public schools. This includes continued mask wearing and social distancing for students and staff.
This means all end-of-the-year school events, including those held outdoors, will continue to adhere to these health and safety protocols. Visitors will be required to wear facial coverings while participating in these events. Students will be required to wear masks unless they are eating or engaged in physical activity.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we continue to follow state guidelines to ensure the health and safety of our students, staff, and families.
Thanks,
The Fourth Grade Graduation Committee
