New Head Football Coach Announced
Guardian Angels Central Catholic High School has named Mr. Matt Schlaebitz as the next head football coach.
"Mr. Schlaebitz has been an assistant coach at Guardian Angels Central Catholic for the last 12 years and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the position," said Josh Batenhorst, GACC athletic Director.
'He is a person of high character and possesses all the values that are needed to help lead our student-athletes," added Mr. Batenhorst.
Please congratulate Mr. Schlaebitz when you see him!
Calling All Students and Parents!
SPA is need of parents and students to help empty the can trailers west of Pizza Hut
on Saturday, December 10
at 9 a.m.
Students can earn Service Hours for helping with the cans.

- First Semester Service Hours must be turned in by December 13.
- All students who are going out for speech, need to have their scripts/topics picked out before coming to workshops over break.

Ugly Sweater Competition
All 7th - 12th grade students are invited to participate in an
Ugly Sweater Contest
on Thursday, December 15
- The House with the most participants earns 4 House points.
- Person with the most festive costume wins a prize.
- Jeans or sweatpants may be worn with your ugly sweater, but no yoga pants.
- Cost to participate is $1, but please be generous.
- Proceeds benefit school families with medical bills, so help give them a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

From the Guidance Counselor
- West Point Public School classes and P2T grades are point-in-time grades. They do not run on the quarter system. At the end of the semester, students' first quarter and second quarter grades will both be changed to the same grade the student earns for his or her semester grade at those institutions.
- Freshmen - will have morning finals on Friday, December 16. On Monday, December 19, freshmen will attend Career Day at Northeast (dress warm!).
- January 6 - Last day to register for the February ACT.
- January 17 - NECC classes begin, tuition is due.
Scholarship Opportunities
- Seniors - check the GACCBLUEJAYS website frequently for scholarship opportunities. All of the local scholarships are posted on the gaccbluejays.org website under School Counselor, and new opportunities are always being posted.
- Don't forget to apply for college scholarships. UNL's deadline is February 1 and NECC's is in March.
- February 18 - deadline for the Eugene L. Sucha Memorial Scholarship (applies to any career field).
- February 18 - deadline for St. Francis Memorial Hospital Foundation (for students planning a career in healthcare).
- March 23 - deadline for Leonard W. Kaup Scholarship (father or grandfather must be a member of Knights of Columbus Council #2272).
Walk for Life in Lincoln
- What: 50th Nebraska Walk for Life
- When: Saturday, January 28, 2023
- Who: Current 7th - 12th grade students
- Where: Lincoln, NE
- Information: GACC plans to take a bus full of 7th - 12th grade students and chaperones to the 50th Nebraska Walk for Life. The Archdiocese of Omaha will be coordinating a schedule for the day. More information will be shared as it becomes available.
- A sign-up sheet is located outside the GACC High School office for interested students to sign up. Signing up at this time does not commit students to going. Final sign-up will be in January.
- Cost: GACC March for Life funds will be used to cover transportation costs.
Stuebenville 2023
- When: July 7-9, 2023
- Who: Current 8th - 12th grade students and interested chaperones
- Where: Springfield, Missouri
- Cost: $200 registration fee, plus cost of bus transportation and group t-shirt. Additional charges will be required if students are unable to board on-campus (i.e. we have to get motel rooms instead).
- Registration: A sign-up sheet is located outside the CC High School Office. If a student is interested, or wants more information, please sign up on the sign-up sheet. Signing up now does NOT commit students to go. The final sign-up will be in February.
- Chaperones: Parents or adults wanting more information, please contact Jen Kreikemeier. This event is an amazing experience to encounter God with students, one you will not soon forget!
