Kidblog
Students began blogging this week through Kidblog. Kidblog is a classroom site where students can post classroom assignments or activities that they are proud of. This week, students posted about our comprehension strategy: analyzing and evaluating text features. Students took a picture of a book that they were reading during guided reading and described why the author used specific text and graphic features in their writing.
Educreations
This week, students continued to explore area and perimeter. Students showed that they have mastered this skill by creating an Educreations lesson. Students recorded themselves teaching how to find the area and perimeter of a rectangle. Follow the link below to see an example of a 3K student's work.
Writers Workshop
Students have been making great progress in writing their non-fiction texts! This week we took stock of our writing and set goals. Each student examined his/her writing based on a checklist of what strong writers do. Students then found evidence in their work for all of the great things they are adding to their writing! Students also used this opportunity to create goals to decide what they wanted to add to make their writing even stronger.
