Conservancy Kids
We bring the Sonoran Desert to you!
Welcome to Conservancy Kids!
We are so excited to have you with us on this virtual journey of inquiry and place-based learning! Right now we may be social distancing, but we're all connected by the awesomeness of science. We're junior scientists, exploring the natural world, asking questions, and making discoveries. Join us for an adventure that will take you outdoors, around the house, and into the incredible Sonoran Desert. Welcome to Conservancy Kids! We're excited to see you!
Using Our Senses to Explore
Our five senses are our best scientific tools! As scientists, we can use them to make important observations about the world around us--what it looks like, how it smells, what we hear, how things feel, what stuff tastes like (be careful with this one!). All of these observations expand our understanding of how the world works and our place in it. Today, we're going to use our sense of sight to explore the world right outside our front door!

Let's be a scientist!
Let’s use our sense of sight. We can use our sight to make observations, notice changes, watch how things act and react, and see things in their natural surroundings. Let’s use our sense of sight to make observations about different habitats around your home. Check out the video and lesson plan below!

See you next time!
Catch us next time where we use our sense of hearing to explore the world around us and develop questions about what we notice.

Luke Challis
Luke loves science and being out and about in nature! He studies a lot about biology, ways of thinking, and philosophy. Luke also loves to teach and encourage kids and adults to always keep learning.
Nicole Kallman, Education Coordinator
Nicole loves science and exploration. In college, she studied physics and biology. Now, she shares her excitement about science with others, encouraging everyone to follow in the footsteps of Miss Frizzle: "take chances, make mistakes, and get messy!"
