How the Vietnam war started
The war began in 1959 when they had begun engaging south Vietnamese army forces in firefights. More than 3 million people were killed in the war. Including 58,000 Americans were killed in the Vietnam war. 3 weeks before John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. Kennedy's successor Lyndon B. Johnson and secretary of defense Robert McNamarn to increase more troops in Vietnam.

Communist forces seized control of suigon, ending the Vietnam war, and the country was unified as the socialist Republic of Vietnam the following year. In October 1972, Nixon’s National Security Advisor, Henry Kissinger, concluded a secret peace agreement with North Vietnam’s Le Duc Tho.

How many men died in the war?
During Vietnam War, the U.S. suffered from 58,119 killed, 153,303 wounded, and 1,948 missing in action. For the Republic of Vietnam are estimated at 230,000 killed and 1,169,763 wounded. Combined the North Vietnamese Army and the Viet Cong suffered 1,100,000 killed in action and an unknown number of wounded. Estimated that between 2 to 4 million Vietnamese civilians were killed during the conflict!
