Blaze Bulletin
Week of November 26th - Edition 43
Greetings...
Dear teachers,
The TN Report Card is out, and we did well. If you remember, we are scored on a scale of 1-4 (4 being the highest on several indicators:
Academic Achievement - 2.9 (we thought they'd round up!)
Student Academic Growth - 3.3
Chronically Out of School - 3.7
Progress on ELL - 1.8
Ready Graduate - 3.1
Graduation Rate - 3.7
I hope you celebrate the great work you've done to get these numbers to average out at over a 3! Remember, too, that we were an overall level 5 school!
This week, make an intentional effort to recognize at least one colleague’s work. We need to celebrate each other! Nothing compares to a co-worker’s respect!
GO BLAZE!

Classroom Projects- We just want you to keep in mind when assigning projects, although it may not seem like a lot to most, the cost can be burden to quite a few. In your classroom, you can have a project donation box or you can always let students know if they are in need of supplies just to come by the Counseling Office and we will help them.
Let us know if you or your students need anything!!
Good ol' teacher recommendations will be coming soon!
SPED TIP
FBA- Functional Behavioral Assessment
An FBA is an evaluation that focuses on the antecedents and motivation for a student's behavior as well as examining the frequency, location, and effect of strategies used in the past. It is a powerful evaluative tool in collecting and analyzing data in order to develop a systematic, individualized intervention and behavior management plan. An FBA may be completed by school personnel and typically includes an expert on behavior. A school may also choose to include an expert who is not currently a school employee.
Please note that parent(s) must provide permission for the team to conduct an FBA.

INSERVICE OPPORTUNITY
Balance is often an issue. This book study will endeavor to help us learn ways to balance but will also provide many opportunities for us to learn from and share with each other.
This in-service will be different in that we will have an online discussion group, which will account for 1.5 hours of our in-service credit. It will also give us an easy place to share and communicate with each other.
The book study will cap at 20 people. Contact Ms. Walker if interested in being added to the group.
