Griswold v Connecticut- 1965
A couple was arrested, tried, and convicted of offering services to prevent conception, and fined. The 1965 U.S. Supreme Court case of Griswold v Connecticut, 381 U.S. 479 challenged Connecticut’s 1879 law prohibiting the use of “any drug, medicinal article, or instrument for the purpose of preventing conception.”
The US supreme court ruled that the Connecticut law was unconstitutional because it violated the right to martial privacy. Even though martial privacy is not a right stated in the Bill of Rights, it is aright that is interpreted in the ninth amendment
