The teachers say...

This is a very exciting and busy time of year! Please help your 4th grader to stay on track with homework and tests as we get to the close of the grading period.

Important Dates:

Tuesday 12/8: Mass of the Immaculate Conception 9:00am *CONCERT DRESS*
Friday: 12/11: Mothers' Luncheon

If your child will be missing a test due to an early vacation, please be sure to contact the teacher so your 4th grader can take the test before they leave.

Academics

Math: TEST ON TOPICS 5 AND 6: TUESDAY, DECEMBER 15


Reading: We are reading Jose, Born to Dance! We will learn about author's purpose, biographies, similes and metaphors, and shades of meaning in our vocabulary words.


Spelling: Lesson 10: vowel + /r/ sounds. The test will be Friday, December 11th.


English: We will be continuing our work with persuasive paragraphs.


Science: We are beginning robotics during science, one class at a time. 4H will begin building and programming this week! Everyone is learning about life in a tide pool, in the light zone, the dark zone, and a reef. We will have a test on Thursday, December 17th.


Social Studies: Our next quiz is Thursday, December 10th on pages 41-48 of the packet. Review vocabulary, comprehension questions/answers, and the roles priests and Native Americans played on the missions.

'Tis the Season...

for colds, coughs, and the flu! Please remember to keep your child home if they exhibit any symptoms. Children MUST be fever-free for24 hours before returning to school. Thank you for your cooperation!

Safety First!

Please remember to email the teachers if your child is going home with a friend at the end of the day...especially if they are in another class. Having this information helps avoid chaos at the end of the day and is ultimately for your child's safety. Thank you!
