Congratulations On a Successful Showcase!

I would like to thank and congratulate each of our Cluster Facilitators on a very successful Showcase this past Friday! The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and several visitors commented that this one was the best so far. Our learners were confident and respectful with our visitors. They also were much more reflective and spoke much more in depth than I have seen in the past.

Thank you, also, to each classroom educator for taking your class to visit and validate the work/time our kids put into their Clusters.

Please join me in thanking Liz for the countless hours she put into prepping such an exciting day!

H.E.B. Community Challenge "Preview"

I would like to give you a quick preview of an exciting program/competition that each CISD school will be participating in...

You are familiar with the Living Well in Coppell campaign currently underway. There have been several city-wide events this year to engage the community in healthy activities. Mrs. Dobecka has been an active participant!

They next "layer" of this initiative is the statewide H.E.B. Community Challenge. This competition involves cities across the state coming together to complete various missions. A component of this challenge includes involving our schools. More information will be coming in the next few months, but I at least wanted to give you a heads up! Check out the following for more info:

  • @LWnCoppell
  • @ITSTIME (Twitter handle for the state-wide competition)
  • - Create an account as a member of the Coppell community and help Coppell get points for the statewide competition.

Professional Learning on Feb. 16

February 16 is a student holiday and a professional learning day for staff. Our morning will be spent with other CISD elementary schools and Alan November (@globalearner).

The afternoon is a campus time, and we will spend our time focusing on Pre-Assessment, both in how it informs our learning design and as a beginning step of Curriculum Compacting. To truly design an afternoon of learning around our needs as a campus, I am seeking YOUR input.

Please complete the quick 2 question form (below) to add your voice in the design of that afternoon. Please complete it by this Friday, January 23rd. Thank you!
