AP FINALS SCHEDULE
High School Course Finals Schedule
A MESSAGE FROM MRS. AGHA - Rising Seniors, It's Time to Start Preparing For College Applications!
The time has come to start preparing for college applications. Common App has already released their essay prompts. START WRITING SOONER RATHER THAN LATER. The plan is you do SEVERAL versions of your essay before you even show it to your counselor. We can look at it several times before you submit. THAT is how you get a quality essay. It is a PROCESS. They want to see your personality come through with reflective content.
Below, I've included the 2021-2022 Common App Essay prompts
- Need some additional Application Tips? Check out what Harvard recommends!
- What's a good timeline to plan your summer? See how IvyWise suggests you do your college planning this summer.
- Need help writing or just getting started? Check out one of my personal favorite resources, The College Essay Guy.
- Not sure how to talk about yourself? Start by using the 16 Personalities Test to help guide you on how to talk about yourself! It's data that helps you talk about you.
Below is the full set of Common App essay prompts for 2021-2022.
- Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.
- The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?
- Reflect on a time when you questioned or challenged a belief or idea. What prompted your thinking? What was the outcome?
- Reflect on something that someone has done for you that has made you happy or thankful in a surprising way. How has this gratitude affected or motivated you?
- Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others.
- Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more?
- Share an essay on any topic of your choice. It can be one you've already written, one that responds to a different prompt, or one of your own design.
Senior Celebration Movie Night! (Seniors ONLY Event)
What better way to end a long stretch of AP exams than to relax with your friends?
Virtual S.T.E.A.M. Day 2021
Students attending virtual demonstrations and sessions highlighting the 5 areas of S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics). There was everything from live dissections, robot demonstrations, Music Technology Assembly, to an overall S.T.E.A.M Challenge where students had the opportunity to win prize money!
FSA Social Studies Teacher Mr. Stiffler said of one of the events, "I was really fortunate to be a part of the music technology program with the high school kids and it was fantastic. It was like watching a wizard making music. I’m certain the students were fascinated since music plays such a big part in our daily lives. Can’t say enough good things about it. Plus, I got to “drop that beat” on one of the tracks he made for us!"
Student Spotlight - GISA State Track
Congratulations to sophomore Austin Grader who placed 7th in the GISA State Track Finals in the 300M run on Saturday, May 1st. It was a hard fought race in which Austin actually took a fall, but still completed in the top 8!
During the last few weeks of school there are various student organizations hosting drives to help the community. Drop Off Boxes Can be found in the FSA Front Office - More Info on the Drives Below

Students can now explore their future with Georgetown University!
Georgetown University wants to help you find your calling
Georgetown University recently created a new opportunity for high school students to explore courses that might help them better prepare for college majors.
This flexible online program is designed for high school students, ages 13 and older. It enables them to investigate subject areas of particular interest.
Why Georgetown? Georgetown University’s approach to education is unique. We follow the Jesuit tradition of cura personalis—care for the whole person—and our goal with this new program is to provide a holistic experience. Students deserve the opportunity to develop their own talents and dreams, and this program will help them do that.
Current courses offered:
- Law: How to Think Like an Attorney
- High school students are given an inside look at the profession, practice creating evidence-based arguments, analyzing information, and discerning fact from opinion. The course teaches valuable critical thinking skills. Topics covered offer a good background for potential college majors and career paths related to law.
- Medical Research: Clinical Trials Resulting in Medical Discoveries
- High school students learn the processes researchers use to formulate and conduct studies, as well as evaluate the evidence gathered. Topics covered offer a good background for potential college majors and career paths related to STEM, medical research, pharmacology, and biostatistics.
- Mentorship: High school students will participate in live, online group sessions with a Georgetown University mentor who assists with brainstorming on their final project and answering questions about assignments. Mentors are Georgetown students and alumni who are well-versed in the subject area of the course. They also share information on college majors and careers.
- Flexible learning: Course lessons are delivered by renowned professors through dynamic videos, allowing students to study anytime that fits their schedule.
- Certificate of Completion from Georgetown University: Students earn this recognition when they finish the course successfully.

How Does Aftercare Work for High School Students?
High School Families,
We would like to openly tell you that when more students stay for after school care, it will be harder for us to protect the safety of after school care students during the pandemic. Therefore, If your child is not staying for After-School Clubs or Tutoring, we strongly ask you to pick up your child between 3:16 pm and 3:40 pm.
If your child stays for After-School Clubs or Tutoring, please pick-up your child between 4:00 pm - 4:10 pm.
After school care begins at 4:10 pm and continues until 5:30 pm.
For those students who regularly use after school care, we recommend the monthly payment plan to save money. After school care fee is $20 per day for the monthly payment plan. If you are not interested in a monthly registration, you will indicate this on the form sent in your email. You will be charged $30 per day as you use after school care. After 5:30, the fee increases to $40, and $1 is added for each minute after 6:00. If a student is not taken by 7:00 pm, we will inform the local safety authorities for the safety of the student.
If your child will be joining after school care, you will follow the drive to pass the front of the school and park your car at the far end of the building. After parking your car, you will enter through the courtyard entrance. You will not come inside the school building. Please enter the courtyard, and knock on the door "L25" for Middle School and "HS Hangout" for High School students. The images below will help you to see where to park, enter the courtyard, and pick up your child. Please make sure to have your carpool card with you. Please make sure to be wearing a mask, and please maintain social distancing while traveling up the stairs to get your child. Once you have picked up your child, please exit from the same courtyard entrance.
Please note: families are not permitted to gather and remain in the courtyard area after picking up their children.
