Agenda for the week
Tuesday - GAC League Championship Meet @ Webberville
Wednesday - Normal "last official" team practice
Thursday - Freshman/Sophomore Invitational at Ovid-Elsie. Seniors led practice back home for Junior and Seniors.
Friday - only those athletes who are competing at the Champions of Champions on June 1st will be required to practice. 3:00-5:00 pm
Congrats to Jessica Marvin & Hunter Berecz for qualifying for the State Finals in both the Shot Put and Discus!
Tuesday, May 24th - GAC League Meet
10:00am - Field Events Begin
11:00 am - Running Events Begin
This is the meet that determines who is 1st team, 2nd team and Honorable Mention All League (GAC Blue). This meet also finalizes who wins the league championship (1/2 dual record, 1/2 based on team finish at this meet). 1st place finishers will receive the 1st team GAC medal and 2nd place finishers will earn the 2nd team medal. 3rd place finishers will receive an Honorable Mention certificate at the banquet.
Wish I could give you more details than this, but this was all we were provided. Field events should go in the same order and gender as it has all year.
Thursday May 26th - OE Freshman/Sophomore Invitational
Competing Schools: Alma, Bullock Creek, Byron, Corunna , Lapeer, Morrice, Ovid-Elsie
4:00 Field Events (3 attempts, no finals) Others to follow.
● Boys High Jump Starting height: Boys – 5'2” Girls 4’2” (2” increases)
● Girls Pole Vault Starting height: Boys – 9’0” Girls 6’0” (6” increases)
● Girls Discus
● Boys Shot Put
● Girls Long Jump (open order) Each group will have 90 minutes to complete all jumps.
