Science
Welcome back Thunderhawks! This upcoming week in science, students will review the safety rules and procedures. Students will be bringing home a syllabus and safety contract that will need to be reviewed and signed by a parent or guardian. We have our first lab on Friday which will involve the use of glassware, thus students are required to have their safety contracts signed and turned in to participate. This is always an exciting day for the students and a great learning experience both students and teachers look forward to!
English
Welcome back Thunderhawks! We are so excited to start the 22-23 school year, and it was amazing meeting all of our new students this past week! We will be checking chrome books out to each student in English class on Tuesday. Once your student begins bringing their chromebook home, please be sure to charge it each night, and pack it to return to school the next day. We have so many wonderful things planned for this year, and we cannot wait to get going next week…it is going to be a GREAT year!

Geography
Hello Thunderhawk Families! The first two days of school have been so exciting getting to meet our students and show them the ropes of middle school. Students have reviewed our whole school procedures and RISE expectations. We are sure to see students showing respect, integrity, self control, and effort in the coming weeks as we dig further into Western Hemisphere Geography! This week students will set up their Geography notebooks, which is an important instructional tool they will use everyday to learn about the world! To set these up, students will need their composition notebook in class this week!

Message from 6th Grade Principal
Welcome back students and families! I hope you each had a wonderful and relaxing summer. We have hit the ground running and the year is off to a wonderful start. Teachers are working hard to make sure all students feel welcomed and are accustomed to the new procedures and expectations of middle school. We know this can be a scary and nerve racking transition from elementary school, but I’d like to personally reassure you we are here to help! Please don’t ever hesitate to reach out to your child’s teachers or myself with questions or concerns. Students will be encouraged daily to RISE by showing Respect, Integrity, Self Control and Effort. It is a joy to work with your students and I know this is going to be a wonderful year.
Respectfully,
Laura Brown
