Math Activity Center on ThinkCentral for students
- Lesson Practice are worksheets that can be used for more practice. You can print a page as needed or students can write work & answers on a piece of paper.
- Lesson Checks are a great place to get more practice on a lesson by doing digital lessons just like the ones I assign. It is nice because students can hit check answer to see if they are doing a problem correctly. This is a great place to prepare for a quiz or a test. No need to do all the problems-it is fine to pick & choose.
- Fluency Practice is another place to practice multiplication and long division. Again no need to do all the problems but it will tell you if you are correct so helps build confidence and fluency on multiplication and division.
These are my three favorite spots on this page but feel free to check out the Math Readers, Games, and Lesson Challenges.
Math Websites we are using in Semester Two
We are using SplashLearn in class this year to reenforce lessons taught in class. Currently there are lessons on division in SplashLearn for your student to gain extra practice.
For your child to be able to complete tasks I assign for home, please sign up on SplashLearn for free
Steps to set up home access
2. Sign up for free and verify your email.
3. Enter class code: LLCSGU.
4. Select your child’s profile to complete setup.
MobyMax Math Lessons are used to give students math lessons at their level after they take the initial placement test.
Prodigy is used only on Fridays starting with Term 3 for students that are finished with all their work. I can assign math lessons for the students to work on either as enrichment or extra practice.
Math websites can be used at home at parent's discretion.
Math Enrichment
Examples of math enrichment:
- ADDs-students have a packet of ADDs that can be turned in for extra credit as they finish a page(both sides)
- DynaMath-students have a paper copy of this Math Magazine that they can read & answers the questions right in the magazine. Again can be turned in for extra credit.
- SplashLearn- Math Website that has additional practice
- ThinkCentral Math Enrichment: complete enrichment lessons

Math Homework & Google Classroom Math
- Homework: I would expect to have math homework especially at the beginning of the week and when we start a new unit. If you see a 4/5 or 0/5 on Skyward for math worksheets then that was a late assignment. ThinkCentral is assigned on Mondays and due on Friday usually about three lessons. Homework worksheets are assigned and due the next day. There is time in class but students are expected to work on this at home. It is a good idea to start on Monday night right away. All paper assignments are attached to Google Classroom so it can still be done at home if they forgot it at school. The due dates for ThinkCentral might be further out than Friday but that is for students who are absent or have late work. In order to keep the assignment in ThinkCentral I have to put the due dates later but students know to check Google Classroom to see when work is due. Follow the due dates on Google Classroom.
- Google Classroom Math: Students are expected to check this daily for what homework is assigned and for math resources such as Math notes and videos to help with understanding. Students benefit from watching them at home to reinforce the lessons I teach in class. Students that are successful in math are checking Google Classroom daily and know what the assignment is and what resources are there to help them.
