They Never Came Back

Main Character
Murielle Lyman or Cathy Ferris could be the "main character". This book changes perspective between the two each chapter and they're the same person just at different times. Murielle has parents that left her at a young age illegally. She was very close to them but she doesn't think she can safely get in touch with them.
Setting Image 1 - School
Cathy goes to a school under the name Cathy and gets called out on looking exactly like Murielle.
Setting Image 2 - Backyard
Murielle loses her only way to contact her parents (a phone) in the backyard of her aunt's house.
Setting Image 3 - Car
Her aunt was supposed to drop Murielle off at the airport to go with her parents but ends up not listening and keeping her.

Character Pillar: Resiliency
Murielle "loses" her parents at a young age and never gives up on finding them and keeps on trying.
Symbol 1 - Sadness
Murielle is sad when she realizes her aunt isn't dropping her off at the airport.

Even though her parents left without her Murielle continued to love them and wish the best for them.
Symbol 3 - Loneliness
Murielle gets extremely lonely without her parents. Even to the point of going days without speaking.
