Principal's Corner
Dear Campo Verde families and community,
This quarter has gone by so quickly. Thank you all for your involvement and dedication to our Campo Family & community. I hope everyone takes the time to relax and enjoy Fall break. School will resume on Tuesday October 16th. Please take a couple of minutes to provide our administration feedback on how this school year is going thus far. Here is the LINK.
Last week we celebrated our Homecoming and it was a huge success. There were so many events that our Student Council led from the pep assembly, spirit week, carnival, alumni tailgate, halftime show, winning the game, and the dance. Thank you to all of the students, teachers, and parents that came together to organize and provide these memories for our student body.
Campo recognizes there are concerns with parking, traffic, and road construction near campus. Please be patient and know we are in the middle of implementing some solutions and sending out detailed communication on the next steps.
Vaping and the use of wax pens are becoming an epidemic nationwide with our youth. Law enforcement has seen an increase in drug use from students who have experienced vaping. Using or being in possession of a wax pen is a class 4 felony and change is possession of narcotic. Please help us in educating students on the dangers and severity of these products. If you're interested our district host parent universities to educate parents/ community members on these topics.

THE COYOTE FALL CONCERT SPECTACULAR
The Campo Verde High School Jazz, Concert, and Wind Ensembles delivered their first performance of the year in front of an enthusiastic crowd on Wednesday, September 22nd. The Director of Bands, Matt Kozacek, and Assistant Director of Bands, Taylor Mitchell brought together the ensembles in a very enjoyable musical experience.
The concert began with the Jazz Ensembles who performed music by jazz legends Chuck Mangione, Dizzy Gillespie, Leonard Bernstein, and music like "Freedom Jazz Dance," and "The Girl from Ipanema" sung by vocalist Delaney Balk. With ground-breaking solos and exceptional ensemble work, the Coyote jazz musicians delivered an incredible performance.
The Symphonic and Wind Ensembles performed various interesting pieces such as, "Hypnotic Fireflies" by Brian Balmages, and "Groovy Loops" by J Scott McKenzie, followed by beautiful rhythms by the Concert Band. The Coyote bands simply delivered a spectacular fall concert performance.

library information
The library circulation system keeps track of how many books are checked out per student. We use this technology to find out who has the most checkouts. Further, we are able to track the checkouts cumulatively. By a student’s senior year, we can see how many checkouts he/she had over the course of his/her four years at Campo. We honor the top senior at the end of every school year.
Here is the plaque we keep up in the library that showcases our top senior readers over the course of our school’s lifetime:

Chromebook Information
After doing some research on battery life of Chromebooks, Mrs. Jeffers found that there truly is a way to keep Chromebook batteries healthy. Users either need to be using their Chromebooks daily, or follow the suggested steps if planning to not use the Chromebook over multiple days.
If your child will not be using his/her Chromebook over break, please make sure he/she charges the Chromebook to 100%, then logs out, then shuts down. The Chromebook can then be stored safely.
Mrs. Flaherty and Mrs. Jeffers recommend that all students (whether they use their Chromebook daily or not) set a reminder for themselves to check on their Chromebook the night before we come back from October break. Turn it on to check the battery life and make sure it is charged so that it is charged and ready.

The FAFSA is the form you need to fill out to apply for federal and state grants, loans, and work-study funds to help you pay for your child's college tuition. You can submit your FAFSA between October 1 and June 30 each year. However, each state and college may have their own, earlier deadlines, so be sure to add those to your calendar.
