Staff Spotlight
Lea Perez (3rd Grade)
My name is Mrs. Lea Perez and this is my first year at Blackshear, but my 12th year teaching. I'm excited to be joining the Blackshear family as a 3rd grade Bilingual teacher. I received my undergraduate degree in Business Management from the University of Houston in 2003, and also obtained my Masters from Sam Houston State University in 2011. I've taught 2nd and 3rd grade as well as served as a Dyslexia Specialist for K-4. When I'm not in the classroom I enjoy spending time with my husband and 2 children. I'm so thrilled to be part of the Klein Strong family.
Muneeza Dhukka (1st grade)
Hi! I’m Muneeza Dhukka and I’m a first grade teacher. I’ve grown up in the Klein area and attended Klein schools (Haude, Strack, and Klein Collins). It’s such an honor to teach in the district that I myself was a student of. I graduated from University of Houston and am now doing what I love doing the most, teaching! Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, baking, and reading.
Donna Knodle (3rd Grade)
I am a student of Klein schools from Elementary through High School. I have a degree in Elementary Education from Texas A&M. My classroom experience spans 17 years. I have taught all grade levels, Pre-K through sixth.
I have been married to my husband, Andy, for twenty-four years. We own and operate a pool service company. We have two daughters. Claire is a senior at A&M and Allison is a junior at Klein Collins. We are big football fans from High School to NFL and we love to travel.
Buffalo Brags
- Due to our large number of students, the district has allowed us to hire an additional counselor and and additional specialist! Lori Bourgeois (former 3rd grade teacher) has been promoted to counselor and will oversee 504 plans, behavior intervention, and much more. Kelli Clough (former 4th grade teacher) has been promoted to specialist and will work as a teacher coach in both literacy and math, with a focus on digital learning. We look forward to the amazing things these leaders will bring to Blackshear!
- WIN Time has officially begun in grades 1-5! WIN stands for What I Need, and is a daily flexible grouping time for students to receive on-level intervention and enrichment. Our goal is to make this a productive and purposeful time for all of our learners as we work to create personalized pathways to success for every student!
- Coming soon on Twitter - Blackshear #kidtweets! We will soon be assembling a group of students to share the great things going on at Blackshear through their eyes.
