HomeLink News
May/June Newsletter
Message from the Principal
Families,
It’s hard to believe that the 15-16 school year will be coming to a close soon. May is a busy month at HomeLink with many important events and deadlines. It is important that you frequently check your email for updates and announcements so that you don’t miss any important information in the coming weeks such as: information on events, curriculum purchasing, scheduling, registration, inventory, assessments, etc. We have many moving parts to HomeLink, so I also ask that you review upcoming events on our calendar: http://www.threerivershomelink.com/#!calendar/c5b6. Our calendar is regularly updated to keep our families informed on what is happening within our program.
Registration: Registration for current families closes on Monday, May 9th. To date, we have received 300 student applications for next year meaning we are missing nearly half of the applications for students currently enrolled. If you are planning to enroll in HomeLink for the fall, please submit your application prior to the deadline to ensure placement. We will be opening up registration on May 10th for new families.
Parent Advisory Council:
We had our first PAC meeting last week to get to know one another. I am excited about our team and look forward to serving with them for the 2016-2017 school year. Parents can review PAC meeting minutes by visiting the website and selecting the link that says “PAC”: http://www.threerivershomelink.com/#!blank-15/xsu89 . Thank you, PAC Team, for your commitment to serving HomeLink!
I look forward to a solid finish to the year.
Wishing you all the best this summer,
Tyler Reeser, Principal

Dress Code Reminder
Families,
With the warm weather upon us and as a friendly reminder, please remember to make sure that your student(s) wear school appropriate clothing to school. Students are also reminded that they need to wear appropriate footwear for organized activities. Students should not wear flip-flops to PE related activities as this poses a safety concern and will not be allowed to participate. Students are welcome to bring a change of athletic shoes with them for their workshop, class, or lunch time activities. You can review the school district’s Dress Code Guidelines at: http://www.rsd.edu/resources/policy-dress-code-guidelines.html
All the best,
Mr. Reeser
Curriculum Inventory
It’s that time of year! Time to bring in all of you library items for inventory! To make this a smooth process, here is a list of things we need you to do.
Sign up for a day and time to come to the library with all of your books. There will be a paper sign up sheet in the library starting Monday, May 9th. The dates available for inventory will be May 16th through June 7th.
Print a list of your library items from WINGS (on the left hand menu, select View Allocation, scroll to the bottom to see your list).
Go through and highlight all the items as you pack them up to bring to HomeLink.
Separate out the books you would like to check back out, from the books you are all done with. This will make the scanning process faster.
If you find that you are missing an item, or an item has been damaged, please email brooke.damrell@rsd.edu for instructions on how to replace the item.
Bring your Year-End-Checklist with you to be initialed by me!
Congratulations! You did it! You just completed inventory 2016!
If you have any questions about this process, please feel free to email me brooke.damrell@rsd.edu and I will be happy to help!
Thanks,
Brooke Damrell
STEAM Applications
Does your child like to tinker? Does he like to explore beyond the traditional curriculum? If this is you, please consider STEAM at Three Rivers HomeLink! STEAM is a full day class comprising 60% of your 7th and 8th graders SLP. We focus on themed projects and independent exploration of concepts related to Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.
To join STEAM, please complete the application. Pay particular attention to the rubric for evaluation. We will accept applications beginning on May 5th and close the window on May 20th. As applications are reviewed, they are assessed against the rubric. Students who rate high enough are considered eligible for the program. 7th & 8th graders are given priority over 6th graders, but 6th graders are CERTAINLY encouraged to apply. Final selection will be announced by the end of May.
