GMS Principal's Corner

November 7, 2021

Dear Galvin Families,

The outside water main line has been fully repaired by the Canton Water Department and students will be in the building as usual tomorrow. Tomorrow is a Day 3 in our schedule rotation.

In addition to the beautiful fall weather, November is a busy month at GMS. Students have been busy with both in school and extra-curricular activities and after school clubs. Our Cross Country team concluded a very successful season, and we have Parent/Teacher conferences on Wednesday, November 17th.

We hope everyone had a restful weekend and we look forward to seeing our students tomorrow morning.

Thank you,

GMS Administration

Veterans Day

The students and staff at GMS will be recognizing the importance of Veterans Day. They will be honoring members of their family and community that have made sacrifices to protect our freedoms. We will be hanging up our acknowledgements in the lobby.

STEAM Week

Seventh graders used various sized gears and other materials to create Spooky Halloween Science Scene Automatas. Each group created a different spooky scene to combine with classmates to create a Halloween Haunted House!

ACTION REQUIRED! GMS Handbook Sign Off

We previously shared with families an electronic copy of the GMS Student and Family Handbook with the District Appendix. This Handbook is also posted on our school website. The link to this handbook can be found here: Approved GMS Handbook with Appendix.

It is the responsibility of each family to review the Handbook together and to fill out the 2021-22 Canton Public Schools Student/Family Handbook and Permissions Signature Page. The link to the Google Form can be found here. Please ☑ each section and electronically sign this form as receipt and agreement as stated below. We ask that you complete this form for each child you have at the Galvin.

We appreciate your attention to this matter.

GMS Goes Pink

Last month, Galvin Student Leadership, in partnership with local business (and GMS family) Annie’s Threads, raised $985 for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Student Leaders sold pink ribbons for $1 each on October 29th, and sold t-shirts, with all proceeds benefiting the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. This great organization is committed to finding an answer in the fight against women's cancers through raising money for research and related programs. Thank you to everyone that participated to make this fundraiser such a great success.

Bus S Students - Pickup Time Change

Hello GMS Bus S Families!

It has been brought to our attention that Bus S is arriving to the Middle School later than we would like! To correct this, the bus company will be starting their route at 7:12AM instead of 7:17AM. This should give the students more time once they arrive at school before the bell.
