Foundations for Literacy
A Reading & Language Curriculum for Children who are D/HH
Important information regarding this training:
- Foundations for Literacy (FFL) is a language- and experience-based literacy curriculum that has been researched and developed for young students who are deaf/hard of hearing.
- This curriculum focuses on developing alphabetic knowledge, phonological awareness, vocabulary, language learning, and emergent literacy skills (reading comprehension) in young, preschool, and school-aged children who are deaf/hard of hearing.
- This curriculum is designed for Pre-K through primary-grade students.
- This curriculum is intended to be implemented by classroom Teachers of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing on a daily basis.
- This curriculum is not designed for use with students receiving itinerant services.
- Speech-Language pathologists and paraprofessionals can also assist with the implementation of this curriculum.

FFL Intervention Kit: $410
Once participants are registered, programs will be contacted regarding the purchase of the kits. The cost of the kits is $410 each + shipping. Extra organizational materials will be needed to implement the curriculum with an approximate cost of $100 per kit.
