Linden Leopard Growl
December 22, 2021
A Message from Mr. Testani
As winter break approaches, we have finished our 1st trimester conferences, and we are getting ready to close out 2021. I had the pleasure of attending some conferences over the past few weeks and continue to be impressed with our students, teachers, and parents' commitment and support. Our teachers shared their knowledge of each student, focusing on the positive relationships they have established, and their enthusiasm for teaching and learning. Parents - your support, clarifying questions, open communication, and active engagement in your child's learning have been greatly appreciated. It truly takes a team effort to help our students grow and develop, academically and socially, and our conferences allow us the time to share and celebrate as a team. I am reminded each day of our respectful and enthusiastic students, dedicated staff, and committed families.. What a blessing it is to be part of such a wonderful community.
As the of the holidays and the long awaited break are upon us, we have planned some festive and fun activities for the students and staff this week including spirit days, holiday sing a longs, and holiday parties.
I wish all families who are celebrating, a very Merry Christmas, a Happy Kwanzaa, and Happy New Year. May this holiday season bring you joy, fond memories, and special time with family and friends.
Sincerely,
Mike Testani

Mrs. Bredow's 2nd Grade Class Celebrates the Season of Giving
The kids had a great time at our party today! We tied fleece throws together to make blankets for the elderly people in the local nursing home. It is a tradition in room 10 to give every holiday season.
Happy Holidays!

“Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
― Mark Twain
This quote may optimize the wish that many parents have for their children’s future. Some of you may be fortunate enough to feel that way about your own career. Finding that ideal job is the challenge and for our children it is often a matter of “trying things on” to see what fits. The link below shares interesting looks at how people feel about the work they do. Although many of the videos may be more appropriate for older students, some could be fun for the younger ones such as Kite Designer or Experimental Film and Stop Motion Animator.
Perhaps take a few minutes over the upcoming school break and watch some of these with your sons and daughters. Ask them what they think, and listen. You both may learn something about “a job you enjoy doing.”

CBSD Health & Safety Plan Update
Dear Parents,
As you have been made aware, the district informed the CB community about the most recent masking update. At this time (12/15/21), masking is optional for students and staff.
I continue to ask all families to notify me and our Certified School Nurse (Tina Boyer tboyer@cbsd.org) if your child, or someone in your family, tests positive for Covid. If your child tests positive, or is a household close contact, you will receive direct communication from me about the district guidelines.
Classroom email blasts, as well as bus emails, will still be sent to that specific grouping if a positive case is reported.
I ask all families to be mindful of their child’s symptoms. If you ever have a question, please feel free to contact me or our health office.
Sincerely,
Mike Testani
