El Morro
El Morro is a Spanish fort that the Spaniards built 400 years ago.On the coast of Puerto Rico stands El Morro 4 stories high, it was originally built 3 stories high but it was later modified to 4 stories. This is a great hangout or tourist spot to be at and it is a very beautiful image to see.
Climate
Puerto Rico is always hot and always has sunshine. It has never snowed there because it is close to the equator where it is hot. It is usually 80-90 degrees year round.
Climate
Puerto Rico rains about 5 or more times a day but only for 2 minuets every time. Along with rain sometimes comes hurricanes.
Land
Since Puerto Rico rains a lot they have a lot of water falls. They have about 105 famous water falls and a lot more small ones.
Coqui
Coqui are one of the most smallest frogs found in Puerto Rico. Coqui are actually the national animal of Puerto Rico. There sizes are up to 4 mm -2 inches and there eggs are 3-6mm. These very small frogs are found in Hawaii and Puerto Rico and legend says that if they leave Puerto Rico they die but it is not true.
Flor De Maga
Flor De Maga is the national flower for Puerto Rico. The famous flower is sometimes called a hibiscus because it is similar to the flower. The famous flower is not just red it is also pink, white, tan, yellow and it can also be multi colored with these colors.

- Christopher Columbus discovered the island in 1493, one year after he discovered America. He named it San Juan Bautista, after John the Baptist.The widest part of the island is 65 kilometers.Puerto Rico also competes individually in the Olympics each year, and they have won six medals total.The largest radar telescope in the world is located in Puerto Rico and it is called Arecibo and it is in the town Arecibo and their they run the SETI (search for extra terrestrial intelligence program)
Flag
The Puerto Rican Flag has similar colors to the American Flag Except that it only has 3 red stripes 2 white stripes and it only has one star. The red stripes stands for the blood that was shed from fighting their wars.
Food
A very famous food in Puerto Rico is Arroz con Gandules. It consists of rice and gandules (pigeon peas) beans.
Education
Puerto Rican schools usually teach in Spanish but as one of your classes you can usually learn English.
Government
President
Currently the president of Puerto Rico is Barack Obama because Puerto Rico is an island that is owned by America. Even though Puerto Rico is apart of America`s Government Puerto Rico is allowed to govern itself.
Money
Since Puerto Rico is owned by America it`s currency is Dollars (American money). That means everyone in Puerto Rico uses American money.
Religion
More than half of Puerto Rico is Roman Catholic. 85% of the island is Roman Catholic. 15% of the island is protestant and other religion`s.

Sports
Puerto Rico does not have a football,soccer,or a hockey team but they do have a baseball volleyball, boxing and a basketball team.
Basketball, volleyball and boxing are the most popular sports in Puerto Rico. They have more sports that are not as regular.
Capitol
The capitol of Puerto Rico is San Juan and that is also the city where my ancestors where born. To be exact my ancestors where born in caguas only about 15 minuets away from San Juan.
