Possible JDAL Changes - GBAPS Facilities Task Force Info
As you may have heard, John Dewey Academy of Learning was included in the most recent schema created by the District Task Force that will be presented to the Board of Education. May 8, 2023. Please see this page to learn more about the Task Force that has been meeting to discuss possible changes in our district. More specifically, click here to see the agenda which includes Schema 12.1, the plan that involves changes for JDAL.
According to Schema 12.1, the Task Force suggests the following changes related to JDAL:
- Keep West HS as a 9-12 high school, but add more students from East.
- Also move JDAL to an area within West HS.
- Move part of District Office to the current JDAL building (the other part of DOB would also go to West HS).
The Task Force invites you to share your opinion regarding the suggested changes represented in Schema 12.1 The following opportunities are available for you to share your voice:
1. Table Top Discussions
Table Top Discussions will begin with a presentation of the Task Force recommendations by the group that has led our Task Force work (ATS&R). Participants will be assigned to a table and participate in a facilitated discussion about the recommendations. These opportunities allow individuals to not only share their thoughts and opinions, but to also hear each other’s perspectives. Notes will be collected and shared with the Board of Education.
