The Serene Scoop
Serene Hills Elementary School --- Aug. 14, 2022
Message from the Principal:
I hope you all had some fun and maybe a little rest this last summer break weekend as we gear up for a busy week at SHE. By now everyone should have received their Teacher Announcement emails. Our teachers are so ready and excited to meet their new groups of students. We will have staff on hand at Meet the Teacher on Tuesday to assist you in getting to your students' classrooms. Please bring your students' school supplies at Meet the Teacher to make the first day of school run a little more smoothly.
Next week, we will allow all parents in the building on Tuesday to walk their students to class for the first day of school. On Wednesday & Thursday, PreK and Kinder parents only will be allowed in the building to walk their students back. After Thursday, we are asking for a two-week pause from visitors in order to establish routines, expectations, and relationships with students. Parents will be allowed in the building again on Aug. 29th. Volunteering and teacher meetings must be scheduled ahead of time with the teachers.
We are looking forward to an amazing school year. Thank you for joining us this year as we Expect Great Things from ourselves and each other!
Warmly,
Keegan Luedecke
SHE Principal

Reminders for Day 1
2) Walkers- Most students will also come home with a Smart Tag attached to their backpacks after the first day. Please take a picture of each students' Smart Tag on your phone. If you are picking your student up from the Walker Porch, you will need to show a picture of your Smart Tag to the staff member on duty for your student to be released to you. Is a neighbor picking up your child? Update this change as an exception in the Smart Tag system and send your neighbor the picture of your child's Smart Tag to show our staff when they arrive to pick up your child.
3) Your students' teachers will communicate to you when your students will have PE. Please remember to have your students wear tennis shoes on those days.
4) We are excited for our families to join our Serene Hills community. It is such a wonderful place to be! My staff is completely understanding of the nerves the students will be feeling, especially for new to campus students, and will meet them with kindness and compassion. We will have numerous adults available to help navigate the students to their classrooms. The teachers will be waiting outside their classroom doors to greet them.

Message From Nurse Erin:
Hello!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer!
