I think Spring is finally here! Thank goodness, right? I want everyone to go out there and enjoy the sun, friends, outdoors, and everything this great town has to offer. However, as a massage therapist, I see dehydration, sunburn, and poor eating habits as the main reasons we get sick or just feel poor over the spring and summer. Here are a few tips to help keep you and your family healthy:
Use sunscreen! Pick a high SPF and apply it multiple times. I know tans look great, but burns don't and neither does skin cancer. Also, burns can lead into dehydration, especially if there is drinking involved. just be smart!
DRINK WATER!!!! I know, you hear it every day, but it is truly important. You can get very sick, organs can start having impaired function, your skin loses moisture, and if you are getting a massage and are dehydrated, it can make you feel even worse. I suggest half your body weight in ounces. I know that sounds like a lot, but trust me, your body, skin, and waistline will appreciate it! If you are "not a water drinker", try putting some Wild Orange, Lemon, Lime, or Spearmint essential oil in your water. It will give you health benefits and make your water taste great! Watch what you eat. Another no brainer, but everything in moderation. Don't skip the BBQ or cook out, just try not to over do it. If you eat salty food, just drink more water. If you have one too many adult beverages, drink more water and stay out of the sun.

Health Fair
I am hosting a Health Fair on Saturday the 16th! We will have free chair massage, Aromatouch Hand Technique, Essential Oil Consultations, and more. We will have products for the home, kitchen, personal care, and family for sale and to sample. Open to all ages and will be going until 5. We will be doing a raffle for services and goods.
