THE DEATH PENALTY
CJ Jones
Oregonians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty
This group opposes the death penalty and has a list of reasons why not to support it:
There are better alternatives
The death penalty puts innocent lives at risk
Race and place determines who lives and who dies
We pay many millions for the death penalty system
Poor quality defense leaves many to the penalty of death
There is a better way to help the families of murder victims
The death penalty is applied at random
Capitol punishment goes against almost every religion
Mentally ill people are executed
The USA is keeping company with notorious human rights abusers
We are the "State." When the "State" kills, we are participants
No civilian's job description should include killing another person
Deathpenalty.info
This website is for the pros of the death penalty. It talks about the general public opinion, which is that 7/10 people support the death penalty for murderers, and what people support the death penalty (most groups of people favor the death penalty.)

My Stance On the Death Penalty
I am a firm believer that the death penalty is a necessary punishment. I believe in an eye for an eye, and a lot of the time someone can get away with multiple murders, be caught, and still get to live their life when they took the lives of other people. Someone should not be allowed to kill innocent people and basically know that there's not way the government will put them to death. Life without parole risks prison escapes and the murder/rape of even more innocent people. People complain about having to spend money on the death penalty, but either way we're spending money on the criminal whether it's to house/feed them or if it's to kill them.
