Afterschool Zone Presents: Public Safety Month
Our Afterschool Zone has planned a few more activities this month to help students learn about public safety and awareness. Please see more information below.
Fire Safety and Prevention Day with Broadrock Fire Department (During School)
DARE Program with Petersburg Police (Afterschool)
We will have some visitors from the police department to give a special presentation. This event will take place afterschool. DARE stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education. The goal of this program is to teach students to "respect others and choose to lead lives free from violence, substance use, and other dangerous behaviors." Fruit Fundraiser Extended
Spread the word!! We have decided to keep our fruit fundraiser open for another month to give everyone the opportunity to benefit from the fresh and yummy fruit for the holiday season! This will be for online orders only. The fruit will be shipped directly to the customer's home. Dress Down Reminders
Important Dress Down Reminders
- Please do not send students to school in pajamas, tights, or sweat pants.
- Students must wear shirts with sleeves that cover the midriff, close-toed shoes, and shorts and skirts must reach the knee. No jeggings, leggings, or tight-fitting pants.
- Our school staff reserves the right to determine the suitability of questionable styles or accessories.
STEM Fair Projects
Now is the time to jump in and decide on those topics! All students in 3rd-8th grades are required to complete a STEM Fair Project. 1st-2nd graders will do a group project in class. Teachers will guide students and set due dates, but the students are expected to complete the majority of this project at home. Please see the parents guide and the STEM fair journal packet below for more information.

Students who win our local fair will move on to compete in the AEC finals on March 26th.
Away in a Manger Christmas Program-December 10th
Students have all been assigned their part for the play. Check your emails for the final cast list. Students who have speaking parts have already been given their scripts so they can start memorizing their parts and be prepared for the big day!
