Mrs. GH's & Miss Cartner's class
The boys have had a great couple of weeks with our Ecosystems' Unit in science. They've thoroughly enjoyed learning about parasites and decomposers. My apologies to you for their enthusiasm of bringing up their parasite expertise at the dinner tables...YUCK!!! At least they are interested in what we're learning! I enjoy teaching engaged scientists, and that is proof!! I will be sending home an email with a quick video of a new strategy for long-division that the students have found to be much easier than regular long-division. For the boys, it was all about the spacial awareness of where the numbers were to go that made this new strategy (THANK YOU, Ms. Selle!!) a gold mine for understanding! Be looking for a link to a 'show me' video coming your way! Reconstuction tests were great! Unit tests sneak up on the boys, but I feel very strongly that they took time out of their days to study a little bit every night! Way to go! We will have a long-division test next week.....so let's work on perfecting whichever method works best for the chaps!
