Principal Notes:
Dear Cimarron Community,
We hope you all are gearing up for a safe and relaxing winter break. We are so thankful for having the opportunity to grow and learn with your students this semester. The growth of our students is evident each day at Cimarron.
This semester has been busy, and we have been able to accomplish many of our goals, while providing opportunities for students to grow and learn through authentic experiences. Highlights from this semester include our Veterans’ Day Celebration, performing arts concerts and plays, district champions in 7th grade flag football, 7th grade volleyball, and second place in 8th grade tackle football! We are looking forward to continuing this journey in 2019!
Thank you for all of the community support we have received through volunteering, attending school events such as plays and athletics, donations for classrooms this semester. This month we are especially grateful for the success of our Festival of Trees event. Thank you to all of the people who volunteered to make this event possible!
January 7th marks the beginning of second semester. Students’ schedules will flip at this time. Copies of new schedules will be available to students when they arrive at school on this day.

Safety Update Raptor System
Dear Cimarron families,
Douglas County School District (DCSD) recently rolled out the Raptor Visitor Management system at our school. This system is used by many schools throughout the district and state, and will give us an additional layer of safety for our students. We are committed to protecting everyone at Cimarron Middle School and this system helps support our commitment. Read more.....Link to Letter
AVID at Legend High School
On December 5th, Legend hosted a Programming Night that highlighted the amazing programs we offer. One of those programs was the AVID program. I'm James Benson, and I'm the administrator over the AVID program. If you are interested or would like more information about the AVID program, we would like to invite you to our Question and Answer Information Evening on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, here at Legend. It will be held in rooms D204 & D205 (there will be signs and greeters to help you find your way to the rooms). All of the AVID teachers and admin will be present to help answer any questions and provide any information you need. The evening will begin at 6:30 pm and end at 7:30 pm. Please complete this FORM if you plan to attend so we can have an estimated number of people coming for seating and planning purposes.
