Dear Bridger Community,
I would like to thank you for your warm welcome and share with you my excitement for being part of this amazing school.
My first days have been filled with action and excitement as I am learning all the systems that let our school run smoothly. Your kids are fantastic and very kind. They are definitely the joy of the school.
Some of the good news that I shared with the 4th and fifth graders is that based on your feedback to the previous principal, our student numbers, and what is best for students, we are transitioning from having a ⅘ blend and a 5th grade neighborhood classroom to having 4th grade and 5th grade classrooms.
Some of you have expressed happiness and some of you have expressed concerns. I want to reassure you that we are following all the safety guidelines for capacity, and we will maintain the 3 feet rule of safe distance in the room arrangements in both classrooms. Once the classrooms are combined, our 5th grade will only have 25 students.
I want to share with you that students were very excited to be with their friends when we shared the news with them..
We appreciate your flexibility and understanding throughout all the changes this year has brought.
No Dogs Allowed on School Grounds
As much as we love dogs, please do NOT bring your furry friends with you when dropping off and picking up students. Dogs are not permitted on school grounds.
Hello! This week we are meeting the 1st-5th grade classes for the first time this school year. We will meet kinder next week. Your students are learning library routines, procedures and expectations and finding their table spot. They will be checking out a library book of their choice. Students in K-2 check out 1 book at a time and grades 3-5 may check out 2 books at a time. Take time to ask your child what they checked out and spend some time reading to or with them each day.
A friendly reminder: be on the lookout for any overdue library books from the past and return them to the library.
Thank you for taking an interest in reading and talking about books with your child!

Student Council is happening! Two students from every 4th and 5th grade class will attend every weekly meeting, but all students grades 4 and 5 are welcome. Meetings will be taking place on Tuesdays during the 4th/5th lunch/recess. We will kick things off in October.
It’s been an absolute joy to see your children in school! In classrooms right now I am orienting students to my job as school counselor. Can your child tell you what the school counselor does (they may remember my stuffed animal, Gizmo)? Next week we’ll be exploring feelings; recognizing them and identifying them. You are welcome to reach out to me either by my email firstname.lastname@example.org or my work cell phone (call or text): 503-272-1752. I love working with our Bridger families!
Our first PTA Meeting is this Wednesday 9/15 from 6:30-8pm on zoom!
All content will be in English and Spanish.
Get updated on the school, ask questions of your administrators and meet other families.
This month’s topic: how to support your student’s sensory needs and how to give them emotional self-regulation tools!
