Hour of Code
First, thanks to all who participated in the Hour of Code!!! Just a reminder, these coding sites can be used year round!!!! They challenge the kids to try new things and don't let them give up when it does not work. They encourage students to revise and try again. Below you will find a few extra links for future use:
Coding Apps for kids
Scratch Jr. - uses the same block coding technique as the Hour of Code but allows the kids to create. This is a great app for school projects and allows kids to present information and create games. This app is on all the school iPads. Also a PBS Kids version, not yet on school iPads.
Tynker - The school version is FREE through the 11th. I hope to add this to the school iPads if I can get it FREE.
Also on the school iPads:
-Kodable
-Lightbot
-Hopscotch
-BoxIsland
-Foos Coding
-ETC.
Suggested App List for Different Devices
