The main character of this book is Crow. She is a very unhappy bird and does not realise how special she is. There are other characters along the way like Little Gum, Goanna, Paperbark, and Kookaburra.

This story has a beautiful and important message about realising your own potential and knowing how special you are. It uses language that is simple to understand, and is perfect for young children. The illustrations in this story are beautiful and simple, and use vibrant colours. They are very attractive to look at and will be enjoyed by everyone who reads this book.

Author
Ambelin Kwaymullina is an Indigenous writer and illustrator. She comes from the Bailgu and Njamal peoples of Western Australia, around the Pilbara region. Her story Crow and the Waterhole was listed as a Notable Book by the Children's Book Council of Australia in 2008.
A book you can learn from!
I highly recommend this book for children between 4 and 8 years old. But even teenagers and adults can learn from this wonderful and beautiful book. Enjoy!
