Riverview Report

Here's WHat's Happening at Riverview

Hello,

I just want to say thank you again to our amazing community we have here at Riverview. It was so amazing to see how we all came together during a very scary time. I am so proud of everyone, and I feel so lucky to be the principal of Riverview Elementary. I spoke with our operations department to get an update on our security doors. The project was bid out about 2 weeks ago, and we are scheduled to have them installed before school starts in August. This all depends on all materials coming in on time, but they are very optimistic that the job will be completed by then.

Happy Spring! It has been a long cold winter, and I am looking forward to more sunshine and warmer weather as we head into April. Speaking of Spring, we have so many fun and exciting things happening over the next few months. With field trips, track meets, and some fun assemblies. I am so proud of our students and how hard they work to achieve their academic goals. End of year testing is about to start and I know our students will be amazing!

As you may have heard, there will be some changes to kindergarten this upcoming year with some full day offerings. If you have a kindergarten student starting next year, please register them using this link ASAP and notate your preference. Also, you may know neighbors with upcoming kindergarten students. Please encourage them to register soon as well. This will help tremendously as we make plans for next year.

If I can help in any way, please reach out to me.

Have an amazing month!

Thanks,

Ms. Poulson

Penny Wars Fundraiser

We will be holding our annual Penny Wars fundraiser Tuesday, April 11th - Friday, April 14th. We will be raising funds to offer scholarship money to SFHS graduating seniors that attended Riverview Elementary for at least 3 years. Students are encouraged to bring their change to school. Pennies will count as positive points for their class and all silver coins and bills will count as negative points for their class. The class with the highest score will earn a pizza party.

USBE Climate Survey

Dear Parents/Guardians:

We want to hear about your experience with your student’s education. We invite you to participate in completing the Utah School Climate Survey. This survey includes questions about your student’s learning, school safety, and interpersonal relationships, as well as your attitudes about the institutional environment and your personal involvement in school. Your responses will be very helpful in improving student relationships, learning conditions, and the overall school environment.

Beginning today, 3/31/2023, we invite all parents, guardians and caretakers to complete this survey for our school. The survey is completely anonymous; it contains 33 questions. You can take the survey online by using the following unique school link: [PARENT SURVEY LINK]. Please submit your responses by 5/4/2023.

All your responses are completely anonymous. We have no way to connect you to your answers, and results will only be reported as group responses. There are no right or wrong answers. We just want to know about your personal experiences. Responses are housed securely in an anonymous format with The Utah State Board of Education (USBE) for evaluation research purposes. All evaluation research projects are in compliance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act, (343 CFR 99.31 (6)) and human subjects regulations (Protection of Human Subjects 45 CFR 46).

As you respond to each item, think about your own personal experiences as a parent, caregiver or guardian at your student’s school. Please answer all of the questions. When you have completed the survey, click on the “Next” button at the bottom of the page. You are done! Thank you for your time and opinions.

We hope you will take the time to provide us with this valuable information. Feel free to call our office at 801-798-4050 if you have any questions. Each school’s total survey results will be used to inform and develop appropriate strategies, procedures, and/or programs to enhance our school climate.

The link to complete the survey is: https://neboschools.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9RdQsVEU3YXFPAa

Students will be taking a different version of this survey during their computer class the week of April 17-21st. If you would like to opt your child out from taking a survey, please contact your child's teacher of the front office.

Thank you for your time and participation!
