After World War II Americans stopped working in factories 24/7 leaving them with a lot of free time. As a result of that sports became a huge part of American culture and it still is to this day.
Importance:
Sports have a big influence on both America's culture and economy.

Car sales rose from 40 million in 1950 to 60 million in 1960.
Cause and Outcome of Event:
During World War II Americans wouldn't buy any thing that they didn't need. The result of that was they put all the money they made in the factories into savings allowing normal everyday people to buy cars and other luxuries.
Importance:
The car has shaped the American landscape and the economy allowing the people of the 1950's and 60's cheap transportation.
