- Include 6th graders moving onto the middle school as their information will transfer this summer!
If your student will NOT be returning to MRE next year, please email Mrs. Tilton @ atilton@smcsc.com or use the following link to complete a withdrawal form:
Spring registration is important because it allows us to establish how many sections of each grade level will be needed in the fall. When building class lists, only those children that have completed spring registration will be placed in a class! Thanks for helping us obtain an accurate student count, and make sure that you complete this task prior to April 19th deadline. Contact the office if you need an updated username or password. If you do not have Internet access at home, please come to school and we will set you up on one of our computers in the office!
Spring picture proofs have arrived!
Spring Picture Proof flyers have arrived and should be coming home with your child today! If you are interested in ordering, you may return the order form or order online with the unique code located on the inside of each proof flyer. All orders need to be returned with payment by Friday, April 26th. Checks should be made payable to Inter-State Studios.
2019-20 Class Lists
We are in the beginning stages of creating class lists for the 2019-2020 school year. If there is any information you would like for us to consider when building the lists, now is the time to share your thoughts. Mr. Lord will accept input until April 22 at 3 p.m.
Please send an email to Mr. Lord @ jlord@smcsc.com to share your thoughts. Please put 2019-2020 classlists in the subject line.
ILEARN Assessing Student Readiness (Grades 3-6)
Parents are asked to make the extra effort that students get plenty of sleep and exercise during this time. Eat a healthy breakfast and come to school prepared to test. Testing has been scheduled in the mornings, so parents please keep this in mind when scheduling appointments during this testing window (April 22 - May 17). Attendance is important! It will be great to see how much our students have grown this year!
April is College & Career month at MRE!
Did you know? In 2017, the employment rate of young adults ...
- not completing high school was 57%
- receiving a high school diploma was 72%
- receiving a certification or degree from a college was 86%
Last week, I taught all classes a lesson about college/career during library. We discussed how all MRE students are working toward a common goal: graduating from high school.
After high school, we learned there are a variety of options for students to receive the training required for their adult career. Grades 2-6 students completed a career interest survey to understand their personal interests and strengths! Continue the conversation at home - tell your child a few details about your training after high school and current career!
~Mrs. Bays
Upcoming Talent Show Auditions!
The Talent Show is going to be limited to 3rd through 6th grade, as in the past. Acts need to be 3 minutes or less, and students need to provide everything they need, including the track if they are singing with a recording. There are Audition Letters in the box outside Mr. Westman's door, and he will be distributing the letters in Music during the next week. Audition letters are due back to Mr. Westman by Friday May 3rd, so students have a full 3 weeks from today to return them. Please direct any questions to Mr. Westman @ jlwestman@smcsc.com

Kids are used to having all types of creative work available at their fingertips. It’s easy to copy and paste writing, artwork, videos, and images that we find on the internet, but we often forget about copyright law. It protects people’s creative work. Click on this Family Tip Sheet to learn how to help your child be a responsible and respectful user and creator.
